Behind the scenes

Often we only see the end product of things. But what we miss out most are the little interesting bits of pieces behind the scenes. From the eye of my camera, here are some of the scenes that were going on 'backstage'.

Here's the long lengthy discussion between Kenny, Khai Lee and Dr. Jerry. As designers for our client, we have to reach a balance of what the client wants and what we think is best for the client.

Youthasia_2_of_76

With many years of experience behind him, Dr. Jerry offers a great input of ideas to maximise the smallest potential idea.

Visualizing something on drawings or on paper is only one part of it. Another greater part comes from going on site and visualize it for yourself!

Youthasia_34_of_76

Here's something that most designers dont like doing, - dealing with building managements! With many building safety rules to comply, it's one of the reasons that a project can be delayed!

"The never ending tunnel', as Khai Lee described the route to the Secret Hideout.

Site Handover.

Hi All,

The management at BU are going to hand over the Site to us this coming monday ( 21 Feb) 10.30am at the site.

Well, Just a slight convo with Rave, They are going to state that they handover the site to us the same date (9th or 16 Feb) which is totally not fair to the tenant/contractor as the management has 'stolen' 1.5 weeks of lead time. So, on monday, We will have to nego with the management to state the date as 21st Feb. The actual handover time.

Just something to point out/look out on monday.

Cheers peeps

Visuals and Dwg for Contractor Quote

Hi team,

I've prepared the dwgs for contractor's quotation and visuals for additional information.
Dr Jerry, perhaps you can invite those contractor that you mentioned during site visit to join in this 'tendering' exercise?

1) partitioning and glazing
2) Electrical & Single line dwg submission/application
3) Security Door Access ( just for basic controlled entry)

Given the tight timeline, perhaps it would be a good idea to have the contractors to revert by Monday(14 Feb 2011) so the client can appoint a main contractor on Wed.

Btw, there is good news and not so good news.

Good news is , we can remove the ceiling panels with the condition that the ceiling must be restored to original condition when lease period is over.

Not so good news is we cannot paint those ducting and services to black as we have deliberated earlier.

However, we will explore with some ideas by using landscape shading fabric, or some sort of soft meshing.  in which we will confirm during site handover next Wednesday(16 Feb 2011).

Cheers!
